About us

In French, ‘Le Nouveau Maquis’ means ‘The New Restaurant.’ Across West Africa, a maquis represents more than just a place to eat — it’s a welcoming space where friends and family come together to enjoy the familiar, home-cooked flavors they love.

Le Nouveau Maquis was founded by the Togolese mother-and-daughter duo, Fanta and Fabiola, and has been proudly serving the Atlanta community for nearly 10 years. Through their food, the restaurant brings back the comforting flavors and cherished memories of ‘home.’ While it’s not always possible to travel back to West Africa, Le Nouveau Maquis offers a true taste of the neighborhood eateries of home — where every meal feels familiar, welcoming, and authentic.

My family and I enjoyed the food and service! We tried the traditional Jollof rice, Fufu, Egusi, Beef stew, Tilapia, Snapper and Grilled Chicken dishes. All hot and delicious! We’ll be back!

100000/10 experience. The food is absolutely delicious 😋!!! Service is great! The food doesn’t take ages to come out. The vibe is also very chill. The staff is very nice.

Wow, the food is great – can’t complain, probably one of the better African restaurants in ATL. The interior decor is also warm and welcoming, will actually not mind dining in there.
